While browsing Bluesky this evening, I discovered that today is National Writing Day in the UK. Given that I also happened to choose the same day to launch this blog, my own personal writing project, this feels like a very happy coincidence.
This message from Princeton University Press was what alerted me to it:

Naturally, I’ve ordered the book: Helen Sword’s Writing with Pleasure.
I did a quick search about National Writing Day and found this article from the Edinburgh Napier University Library blog that describes the event.
Sometimes, coincidences like this feel like more than just chance. I’ve been thinking about starting this new blog for some time but actually pulled the trigger on the day that happens to be National Writing Day. The book that alerted me to this event is all about reclaiming the joy in writing, which is exactly what I’m trying to do for myself by creating this site.
